- Candice Nokes solo BONK! performance series
-
- Nick Demske's performance series in Racine - truly a one-of-a-kind set of performers each month. It was a unique and freeing experience playing there, and here is a live recording! Check out more about BONK! at http://bonkperformanceseries.wordpress.com/ Also - to credit the first song - it is from Joanne Shenandoah's CD, Matriarch. The song is called She Carries It Along, sung in the Oneida language.

- About Yukhika-latuhse (you-key-ga la-dooz) The Yukhika-latuhse (She Tells Us Stories) is a literary journal published by Oneida Nation Arts Program (ONAP) in Oneida, Wisconsin. The first issue of Yukhika (pronounced you-key-gah) appeared in 2005. Our purpose is to present the Native American literary voice. In the Yukhika, there is a mix of established and emerging Native American writers. Yukhika is published annually in late August. Manuscripts are accepted beginning May 1st. Follow this link to see Candice's work published by YL Voice entitled All Girls' Dance. Native dancing is one of Candice's favorite spiritual investments, especially experiencing the fancy shawl dancers.

- Candice at Ladies Rock Camp on You Tube
-
- Candice attended Ladies Rock Camp in October 2010 and formed a band with some very adventurous women. Pam Schuler, the keyboardist, posted the edited video on You Tube, and here is the link. Pam is a talented singer and songwriter who posted this video in her musical YouTube collection - thank you, Pam for taking the time to do this. The other members are Anne Sullivan, percussion, and Stephanie Lynn Hahn, singer. We all 3 just met that weekend, maybe just learned our instruments, wrote a song, and performed in Madison on a real rock stage. It's an intense and creative experience, which I highly recommend!
